On the one hand, Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s troubles are increasing in the Muda case. On the other hand, the entire Congress is standing in his support. The Congress has accused the Modi government of attempting to destabilize the Karnataka government through a series of investigative actions targeting Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, including cases from the Income Tax Department, Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and Enforcement Directorate (ED). The party termed it as politics of vendetta and harassment and claimed that it was aimed at intimidating the Congress-led state government.

Speaking on the ongoing political turmoil in the matter, Congress leader Jairam Ramesh said that this is an attack on the people of Karnataka. This is happening because the public did not give majority to BJP in the Karnataka Assembly elections, and they brought PMLA. He said that from the first day the Congress government came to power in Karnataka, the BJP government is trying to destabilize the Karnataka government. BJP is doing politics of vengeance, but we are not afraid.
The Congress leader further said that from the first day (of the arrival of the Karnataka government), the Central Government, the Prime Minister and all the ministers are not allowing the schemes and guarantees of the Karnataka Government to be implemented… From May 25, 2023, the Government of Karnataka will be elected from Delhi. An attempt is being made to shake us somehow, to topple us… An attempt is being made to scare us… We will not be afraid. He claimed that the Chief Minister has said that whatever investigation needs to be done, it will be investigated and the truth will come out. We will fulfill the mandate that the Karnataka government has received from the people for 5 years and we will continue to fulfill whatever promises we have made.

Another senior Congress leader Abhishek Manu Singhvi also echoed Jairam Ramesh’s sentiments and accused the BJP of using the ED to target the Congress government. Singhvi said, it is very clear that ED is now playing, hitting and trying its best to go below the belt. He said that ED is nothing but the election department of BJP. You can also call it the election sabotage wing of BJP. BJP is trying to intimidate Siddaramaiah ji by using PMLA. Through this, BJP is trying to break the people. The only objective of the BJP government is to threaten and intimidate the opposition.
