DK Shivakumar said that BJP and JDS are trying to destabilise our government which will never happen, we don’t care what they are doing.
A Congress Legislature Party meeting was held in Karnataka regarding the Mysore Urban Development Authority (MUDA) case. Karnataka Deputy CM DK Shivakumar said that in the Congress Legislature Party meeting held today, it was decided that all our MLAs will stand with CM Siddaramaiah. The entire Congress party stands with CM Siddaramaiah. He said that the Governor is doing politics against us. The Governor has given permission to prosecute the CM without any investigation.
DK Shivakumar said that BJP and JDS are trying to destabilize our government which will never happen, we do not care what they are doing. Earlier, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Wednesday accused Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot of discrimination while approving prosecution sanction requests. Siddaramaiah said that the Lokayukta’s Special Investigation Team (SIT) on Monday once again submitted a proposal to the Governor, seeking permission to file a chargesheet against Union Minister HD Kumaraswamy in the alleged illegal mining lease case.
In November last year, the SIT had sought permission from Gehlot to prosecute Union Heavy Industries and Steel Minister Kumaraswamy. It is alleged that Kumaraswamy, as the Chief Minister of the state, had allegedly given a mining lease to ‘Sri Sai Venkateswara Minerals’ in 2007 by violating the law. Speaking to reporters in Ganigera in Koppal district, Siddaramaiah said that the Governor issued him a “show cause notice” on July 26, while on the same day he received a request letter for sanctioning prosecution against him (the Chief Minister). The Chief Minister claimed that Gehlot did not take any action in Kumaraswamy’s case.
