Sarfaraz Khan’s brother and Mumbai batsman Musheer Khan was injured in a road accident on Friday afternoon. Due to which he is out of the field. Let us tell you that Mushir Khan was going from Azamgarh to Lucknow when this road accident happened. As of now, Musheer Khan will miss the start of the upcoming Irani Cup and Ranji Trophy 2024-25 season to be held in Lucknow.
According to the Indian Express report, Musheer along with his father Naushad Khan and two others were going from Azamgarh to Lucknow via Yamuna Expressway on Friday afternoon when their car collided with the divider and overturned. His father and two others suffered minor scratches, Musheer suffered a head injury. He is feeling pain at the back of his neck. He has been admitted to a nearby hospital for further treatment.
Doctors have said that Musheer may take at least 16 weeks to recover. It is being said that he may have a fracture, but this has not been confirmed yet. Musheer will now go to Mumbai on Sunday for further treatment. EMISA official said that he had an accident last night and he will not be able to play in the Irani Cup. He will return to Mumbai on Sunday. The medical team of MCA and BCCI is monitoring his condition. Upon his return, BCCI will conduct another round of medical examination and scans.
Did not come with the team from Mumbai to Lucknow
The Mumbai team left for Lucknow on Friday evening to participate in the Irani Cup. Musheer had to come to Lucknow from his hometown, where he trained. MCA wanted Musheer to accompany the team, but his father Naushad requested to allow his son to train in Azamgarh, as his son had not scored many runs in the last five innings of the Duleep Trophy. After consulting with the coaching management of the Mumbai team, the MCA agreed to Naushad’s request. The Mumbai team had planned a two-day net practice in Mumbai. But this exercise was interrupted due to rain.
