According to Lebanese officials, the country received more than 80,000 suspicious Israeli calls asking people to evacuate, after a week of insurgency that has brought Israel’s 11-month conflict closer to full-blown war. The evacuation announcement by Israel came shortly after the start of a new round of “widespread attacks” in Lebanon and signalled that Tel Aviv is bracing for another round of conflict.
At least 182 people were killed and over 700 injured, including children, women and medics, in Israeli attacks in southern Lebanon. The Israeli military announced in a photo post on the social media platform X that military chief Lt. Gen. Herzi Halevi was approving additional strikes from the military headquarters in Tel Aviv. Israel has bombed several areas in Lebanon. Its defense force warned people to immediately leave their homes and other buildings where the Iran-backed Hezbollah militant group reportedly stores weapons.

As Israel was carrying out the attacks, Israeli officials reported air raid sirens sounding in northern Israel, warning of an impending rocket attack from Lebanon. Israel on Monday urged residents of southern Lebanon to evacuate their homes. Israel claimed Hezbollah had stored weapons there and warned of devastating attacks.
