Lucknow. Several people including a woman were injured in stone pelting between two communities over hoisting a religious flag in Bhangha market of Bhinga area of Shravasti district of Uttar Pradesh. The injured woman has been admitted to Medical College Bahraich for treatment. Seeing the seriousness of the situation, SP Ghanshyam Chaurasia immediately inspected the spot. Police have named 44 people. 23 accused have also been arrested. Police force is deployed at the spot.

After this, he, along with his other companions Azad, Siraj, Nanke, Maruf and many others, started pelting stones at the people who were putting up the flag. In this, 60-year-old Shakuntala, who was on the roof of her house, got injured. She was brought to the Joint District Hospital Bhinga by ambulance for treatment. Seeing her critical condition, the doctors referred her to Medical College Bahraich. Ajay Kumar and Angad, along with others, have been injured in the attack. The police have taken the attacking youths into custody and are interrogating them.
To maintain peace and security, DM Ajay Kumar Dwivedi and SP reached the spot and did a flag march with the police force. SP said that additional police force has been arranged to maintain peace and harmony. SP has appealed to the citizens not to pay attention to any rumours. Cooperate with the administration in maintaining peace. Immediately inform the local police about any untoward incident, so that timely action can be taken. ASP Praveen Kumar Yadav, SDM Bhinga Piyush Jaiswal, CO Bhinga Santosh Kumar, CO Traffic Alok Kumar Singh, Inspector in-charge of Bhinga Kotwali Bhanu Pratap Singh, Police Station Head Malhipur Jaihari Mishra remained alert on the spot with the team.
