Narendra Modi in Maharashtra: Prime Minister will launch Vadhavan port project, will address Global Fintech Fest in Mumbai

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is going to visit Maharashtra on Friday, August 30. During this, he will participate in the Global Finch Fest 2024 in Mumbai and address it. Apart from this, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is also going to lay the foundation stone of the Bada Port project costing about Rs 76,000 crore in Palghar.
 
According to the information received from the Prime Minister’s Office, the Prime Minister will participate in the Global Finch Fest 2024 at the Jio World Convention Center in Mumbai and will also address here. After participating in the fest, he will reach CIDCO Ground in Palghar at 1:30 pm and will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of various development projects here. This mainly includes laying the foundation stone of the boost port. This project is very special because its total cost is about Rs 76000 crore, which aims to establish a world-class sea entrance. This scheme is very important because it will give a strong boost to the trade and economic development of the country.
 
Regarding the booster port located near Dahanu city in Palghar district, it is going to be one of the largest deep-water ports in India. It will provide direct connectivity to international maritime transport, save time and also reduce costs. This port will be equipped with state-of-the-art technology and infrastructure and its management system will also be modern. The PMO said that the port is expected to create significant employment opportunities, encourage local businesses and help in the overall economic development of the region.
 
After this, the Prime Minister will also inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of 218 fisheries projects worth about Rs 1,560 crore. The PMO said that these projects are aimed at boosting the infrastructure and productivity of the sector. It said that these projects are expected to generate more than five lakh employment opportunities in the fisheries sector. The Prime Minister will also launch a communication support system for fishing vessels, at a cost of about Rs 360 crore. Under this project, one lakh transponders will be installed on mechanised and motorised fishing boats in 13 coastal states and Union Territories in a phased manner, the PMO said.
 
Other projects that the Prime Minister will inaugurate include development of fishing harbours and integrated water parks, adoption of advanced technologies such as ‘Recirculatory Aquaculture System’ and ‘Biofloc’. The Prime Minister will also lay the foundation stone of important fisheries-related infrastructure projects, including development, upgradation and modernisation of fishing centres and construction of fish markets. The Prime Minister will address a special session of the ‘Global Fintech Fest 2024’ in Mumbai. It is being jointly organised by the ‘Payments Council of India’, ‘National Payments Corporation of India’ and ‘Fintech Convergence Council’. Around 800 speakers, including policymakers, regulators, senior bankers, industry leaders and academia from India and various countries will address over 350 sessions at the conference. It will also showcase the latest innovations in the Fintech landscape.
