NIA announces Rs 10 lakh reward for arrest of Goldy Brar, his associate

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Wednesday announced a cash reward of Rs 10 lakh each to persons sharing information leading to the arrest of Canada-based terrorist Goldy Brar and another accused in the “extortion and shootout” case in Chandigarh.

A statement issued by the investigating agency said that both the accused are wanted in connection with the firing at the house of a businessman for extortion on March 8 this year. It said that Satwinder Singh alias Satinderjit Singh alias Goldy Brar, son of Shamsher Singh, resident of Adesh Nagar, Sri Muktsar Sahib city of Punjab and Gurpreet Singh alias Goldy Dhillon alias Goldy Rajpura, son of Sukhjinder Singh, resident of Baba Deep Singh Colony, Rajpura, Punjab have been booked under various sections of the Indian Penal Code, Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act and Arms Act.

“The NIA on Wednesday activated its machinery to search for terrorist Goldy Brar and another gangster wanted in connection with the extortion and shootout at the house of a businessman in Chandigarh and announced a cash reward for their arrest,” the statement said.

The agency has announced a cash reward of Rs 10 lakh each for any information leading to the arrest of either of the two men. It also said that “the identity of the informant will be kept confidential”. Information in this regard can be given on the telephone number of the NIA headquarters or through email, WhatsApp or Telegram app.
