Nikki Haley takes a dig at top US journalist over predictions on Biden’s tenure

Indian-American leader Nikki Haley on Wednesday took a dig at top US journalist George Stephanopoulos who had questioned her claim that President Joe Biden will not complete his first term and voting for him would mean voting for Vice President Kamala Harris.

Haley told Stephanopoulos in an interview with ABC News last year when she was a Republican presidential candidate. Haley has since dropped out of the race.

Sharing an edited clip of her interview with Stephanopoulos last year, Haley posted on the social media platform ‘X’, asking, “Believe me now, George?” The Republican leader’s post comes amid media reports and ongoing talk within the Democratic Party that Biden should withdraw from the election race after his disappointing performance in the presidential election debate against his Republican rival Donald Trump.

The caption of the post shared by Haley reads, “Biden is set for his first post-debate interview with ABC’s George Stephanopoulos. George was yelling at Nikki Haley last year when she questioned Biden’s ability to serve a second term: ‘How do you know Joe Biden is not going to serve his term? What is the basis for that?'”

In that clip, Haley had said that Biden would not complete his term. Stephanopoulos interrupted Haley in that interview and said, “Excuse me, excuse me, wait a second. How do you know that Joe Biden is not going to complete his term? What is the basis of this?”

Haley had said, “Well, first of all, voting for Joe Biden means voting for Kamala Harris. I think Kamala Harris is going to be the next president and that should give every American a sigh of relief.”
