Noida. The Uttar Pradesh government said on Friday that the construction of the Noida International Film City project is expected to start within six months and will generate 50,000 jobs. Apart from this, about seven lakh people will also be benefited indirectly. Bayview Projects, a consortium backed by film producer Boney Kapoor and real estate developer Ashish Bhutani, on Thursday signed an agreement with Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA), an undertaking of the Uttar Pradesh government, for the development of the film city.

The state government said in a statement issued in Lucknow, “The construction of the film city will open up employment opportunities for 50,000 people from the state and neighbouring states while indirectly providing job opportunities to five to seven lakh people.” According to the statement, the construction of this ambitious project of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will start within six months and film shooting and related activities will also start here within three years. The government said that the aim of this project is to fulfill the aspirations of the people of the state seeking opportunities in the film industry and provide a viable alternative to established centers like Mumbai, Hyderabad and Chennai.
