Odisha: Naveen Patnaik countered PM Modi’s attack, said – BJP is daydreaming

Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Monday lashed out at BJP and said that the party is daydreaming of forming the government in the state. Speaking on behalf of Patnaik on this issue, his colleague VK Pandian said that BJP has been daydreaming for many days. Strongly refuting PM’s claim that the days of the BJD government in Odisha are now numbered, Pandian said, “Naveen Patnaik will meet the Chief Minister of Odisha for the sixth consecutive time on June 9 between 11.30 am and 1.30 pm. Will take oath in this form.”

Prime Minister Narendra Modi today said at a rally in Behrampur that for more than seven decades after independence, the plunder by the Congress and then the Biju Janata Dal kept resource-rich Odisha poor. The Prime Minister was campaigning for the BJP ahead of the state elections coinciding with the general elections in Odisha. He said that Odisha has water, fertile land, minerals, long coastline, history, culture, God has given a lot. But why are the people of Odisha poor? The answer is loot, first by Congress leaders and then by BJD leaders. Small leaders of BJD also have big bungalows.

In a rare attack on BJD leader and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, the Prime Minister asked at a rally in Ganjam why workers from his constituency Hinjili migrate to other states. “Why are the posts of doctors vacant in most of the hospitals here? Why do most of the children drop out of school?” He asked while emphasizing that he never shies away from providing budget to Odisha for development works. The Prime Minister said that the people of Odisha have made up their mind to vote BJP to power. He said, “June 4 is the end date of the BJD government. BJP is the sun of new opportunities for Odisha.” He also praised the Odisha unit of the BJP for coming out with a “visionary” manifesto.
