Islamabad: Pakistan Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has strongly condemned the terrorist attacks in the restive Balochistan province. He reiterated that his government is committed to rooting out terrorism from the country. Gunned attackers killed at least 37 people in two separate attacks on the intervening night of Sunday and Monday in Pakistan’s restive Balochistan province. While chairing a cabinet meeting a day after the violence in Balochistan, Sharif strongly condemned the terrorist incidents in which innocent Pakistanis including security personnel were killed, state-run Radio Pakistan reported.

Sharif said the sacrifices made by the people of Pakistan and armed forces personnel in the fight against terrorism will not go in vain. “The entire nation is committed to eradicate terrorism,” he said. Prime Minister Sharif said all available resources would be provided to the armed forces to eliminate terrorism. He said the time had come to end terrorism. Sharif said the channels of dialogue were open with those who believed in Pakistan and its Constitution but there would be no talks with enemies and terrorists.

Referring to the terrorist incidents, he said it was no longer a secret that the terrorists of Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan were operating from Afghanistan and were behind the terrorist attacks. Prime Minister Sharif stressed on maintaining unity and said such nefarious conspiracies were only aimed at hampering the country’s progress, projects being carried out in Balochistan under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor and weakening the strong friendship between Pakistan and China. Meanwhile, Pakistan’s Home Minister Mohsin Naqvi visited Balochistan on Tuesday. He expressed solidarity with the provincial government’s efforts to combat terrorism.
