Paralympics 2024: 84 athletes from India will be in action, these players will be expected to win gold

The Paralympic Games are going to be held in Paris from 28 August. A total of 84 athletes from India will participate in the Paralympic Games. In total, India has won 31 medals including 9 gold, 12 silver and 10 bronze medals in 12 seasons. This time too, India is expecting maximum medals from its athletes.
Let us tell you that Murlikant Petkar was the first player to win a medal in the Paralympics. He won the gold medal in Heidelberg in 1972. This time too, many legends of India will be seen performing in different sports.
Earlier, India had created a record by winning a total of 19 medals including 5 gold, 8 silver and 6 bronze medals in Tokyo Paralympics 2020. Indian Paralympic Committee President Devendra Jhajharia hopes that this time the country will win at least 25 medals.
While Avni Lekhara in shooting and Sumit Antil in javelin throw will be important contenders to win gold for India in Paris. Avni won gold in women’s 10m air pistol rifle standing in Tokyo, Sumit won the gold medal in men’s javelin throw three years ago.
Apart from this, those who won silver medals in Tokyo include Nishad Kumar in men’s high jump, Devendra Jhajharia (men’s javelin throw), Yogesh Kathuniya (men’s discus throw), Mariyappan Thangavelu (men’s high jump), Praveen Kumar (men’s high jump), Singhraj Adhana (men’s 50m pistol), Suhas Yathiraj (men’s single badminton).
