Good news has come for India on the second day of Paris Paralympics 2024. Indian shooter Avani Lekhara did wonders. She won the gold medal in the women’s 10 meter air rifle event. Mona Agarwal of India won the bronze medal in the same event. With these 2 medals, India’s medal count in the current Paralympic Games has increased.
The special thing is that 22-year-old Avani Lekhara created a record in the Paralympics by scoring 249.7 points. Earlier, Avani won the gold medal in the women’s 10 meter air rifle standing SH1 event at the Tokyo Paralympics. Avani Lekhara has become the first Indian woman to win two gold medals at the Paralympics. Apart from this, she became the first Indian woman to win 3 medals at the Paralympics, this is also a unique record.
