Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky told the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) that he has already invited India to participate in the second international peace summit to end Kiev’s long war with Russia. Zelensky stressed that unity always works for peace and called for collective preparations from all countries to completely end the war. Zelensky said that I invite all of you major countries to join this process. All who really respect the UN Charter. We invite China. We invite Brazil. I have already invited India. We are working with African countries, all of Latin America, the Middle East, Central Asia, Europe, the Pacific region and North America.

Zelensky met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New York on September 23. Ukraine had requested a meeting between Zelensky and Modi. The meeting took place on the sidelines of the Quad leaders’ summit and Modi’s address to the United Nations’ ‘Summit of the Future’. This is the third meeting between the two leaders in about three months. Prime Minister Modi met the Ukrainian leader in Kiev last month.
