People like Kejriwal, Sisodia, Jain will never be welcome in BJP: Anurag Thakur

Hamirpur. Amid the recent induction of opposition leaders into the BJP, Union Minister Anurag Thakur said the party is constantly attracting rivals, but he is not against Aam Aadmi Party leaders Arvind Kejriwal, Manish Sisodia and others facing serious corruption charges. Will never accept Satyendra Jain. Hours after Kejriwal was released from jail on interim bail in the liquor scam case, Thakur said in an interview with ‘PTI-Bhasha’ late on Friday that Delhi Chief Minister Kejriwal has not been acquitted of the charges against him. And he will have to return to jail to face trial after June 1.

He also accused Kejriwal of “trashing” the Constitution by not resigning from his post despite being jailed and pending trial on serious charges in the excise policy case. Thakur said that the people of the country have seen his alleged corruption and will no longer support him as he has now been exposed in front of them. Kejriwal got bail from the Supreme Court and came out of Tihar Jail on Friday evening and after his release sought people’s support in the elections. When he was asked whether he (Kejriwal) could also be included in the BJP in view of many opposition leaders being included in the ruling party at the Center despite not having ideological leanings in the past.

Thakur told PTI, “People like Arvind Kejriwal, Manish Sisodia or Satyendar Jain will never be welcome in the BJP. He will never be able to join BJP.” He said, “He (Kejriwal) has not been acquitted or acquitted of the charges against him. The charges against him remain intact and the case against him will continue in court. Now in view of the elections, they have got relief of 15-20 days. He also has interim relief with several conditions, as he cannot view or dispose of files related to his case, cannot comment about the cases against him, cannot visit the secretariat, cannot visit the liquor scam. Can’t meet connected people. After June 1, he will have to return to jail and surrender.”

The Union Minister claimed, “Those who are bursting crackers on the release of Arvind Kejriwal, it seems that the opposition is seeking straws before drowning. They will all still drown.” Asked whether he would get public sympathy after being jailed, Thakur said people had seen his corruption. Thakur, who is contesting from Himachal Pradesh’s Hamirpur Lok Sabha seat for the fifth consecutive time, also said that “if anyone has tried to crush the Constitution, it is Arvind Kejriwal”. “Even the framers of the Constitution would never have imagined that a Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister would be in jail on corruption charges and yet be reluctant to resign from their posts,” he said.
