People saw the image of Netaji in Akhilesh-Dimple’s daughter, Aditi campaigned a lot for her mother in Mainpuri.

Samajwadi Party (SP)’s Yadav family has got a new campaigner for the ongoing Lok Sabha elections. Akhilesh Yadav’s daughter Aditi Maa has entered the fray to seek votes for Dimple Yadav and other candidates. Dimple Yadav, the sitting MP from Mainpuri, Uttar Pradesh, is again in the fray from the stronghold seat of her late father-in-law Mulayam Singh Yadav. Aditi, 21, is the third generation of the late SP chief’s family to enter the political arena.

Who is Aditi Yadav?

Dimple and Akhilesh Yadav’s daughter did her schooling from La Martiniere College in Lucknow and scored 98 percent marks in her class 12 exams in 2020. Currently, she is studying Politics and International Relations at University College London (UCL). Aditi is fond of badminton and horse riding.

Aditi, known as the ‘daughter of the house’ in Mainpuri, was first seen at a campaign event with her mother on March 20. She has been addressing small meetings or street meetings for almost a month in Mainpuri, the reserved SP seat where Mulayam Singh Yadav had won in 1996, 2009, 2014 and 2019. The seat fell vacant after the death of the SP patron in 2022, necessitating a by-election. Dimple won the by-election by defeating Raghuraj Singh Shakya of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) by 2,88,461 votes. Dimple Yadav is contesting again from Mainpuri, where she will face BJP’s Jaiveer Singh Thakur and Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP)’s Shiv Prasad Yadav. Mainpuri goes to polls on May 7 during the third phase of Lok Sabha elections.

Aditi has always said in her address that Mainpuri is my home and you all are my family. Wherever I am going, I am getting love like a daughter. Thank you people for this affection. In her speeches, she also talks about political issues and promises that the SP government will empower women, create job opportunities for the youth and provide “good education” to children.

Dimple Yadav said that Aditi is not only campaigning for me but in a way she is also searching for her roots. She is meeting people, visiting their homes and spending time with them. Locals already call Aditi “Ghar ki Bitiya” (their daughter). A local said, “Mainpuri is Netaji’s own seat and for us Aditi is ‘ghar ki bitiya’ (our daughter), people will definitely vote for Dimple Yadav and make her win by a record margin of 4 lakh votes.”

Another said that this is the first time that people have seen Aditi, who looks so much like her father Akhilesh, so closely. The way Aditi meets people, listens to them, hugs them and interacts with them, she reminds us of Dharti Putra Netaji (Akhilesh’s father, late CM Mulayam Singh Yadav), who was known for his simplicity and practicality. Was known for his approach.
