Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday inaugurated the two-day National Conference of District Judiciary at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi. Union Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal, CJI DY Chandrachud and Supreme Court Bar Association President Kapil Sibal were also present on the occasion.
On this occasion, the Prime Minister also unveiled a postage stamp and a coin to commemorate the completion of 75 years of establishment of the Supreme Court of India. Over 800 participants from the district judiciary of all States and Union Territories will attend the two-day conference organised by the Supreme Court of India.
The five working sessions will deliberate and discuss issues related to the district judiciary such as infrastructure, human resources, inclusive courts for all, judicial security and judicial welfare, caste management and judicial training.
The press statement issued by the Supreme Court said that the session on “Infrastructure and Human Resources” aimed to explore ways to enhance infrastructure and human capital for the district judiciary.
