Prime Minister Narendra Modi held talks with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in New York. Reaffirmed India’s commitment to an early resolution of the Russia-Ukraine conflict and restoration of peace and stability in the region. In the last leg of his three-day visit to the US, the Prime Minister met Zelensky on the sidelines of the ‘Summit of the Future’ at the UNGA. This recent meeting is the third meeting between the two leaders in about three months. They last met when PM Modi visited Ukraine on a historic visit on August 23. In June, he held talks with Zelensky on the sidelines of the G7 summit in Apulia, Italy, soon after taking oath of office for his third consecutive term in India.

Prime Minister Modi reiterated India’s clear, consistent and constructive approach in favour of a peaceful resolution of the conflict through diplomacy and dialogue as well as engagement between all stakeholders.” The Prime Minister also conveyed that India “stands ready to provide all assistance within its means to facilitate a lasting and peaceful resolution of the conflict.”

The Ministry of External Affairs posted on Twitter that Prime Minister Narendra Modi met Ukrainian President Zelensky today on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) meeting in New York. The two leaders shared their views on bilateral relations. They also discussed the situation in Ukraine. The Prime Minister reiterated India’s willingness to play a constructive role in seeking a peaceful solution to the conflict through dialogue and diplomacy.
