Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to lay the foundation stone and inaugurate various projects worth over Rs 11,200 crore in Maharashtra through video conferencing on September 29 at around 12:30 pm. Among the major projects to be inaugurated is the Pune Metro section from District Court to Swargate, marking the completion of the Pune Metro Rail Project (Phase-1). The underground section of this project, which is expected to cost approximately ₹1,810 crore, is expected to significantly increase urban transportation in Pune.
Additionally, the Prime Minister will dedicate the Bidkin Industrial Area and inaugurate the new Solapur Airport, which will further boost infrastructure and economic growth in Maharashtra. The PM’s office said these projects are aimed at improving connectivity and promoting industrial development in the state. Earlier on Thursday, PM Modi’s planned visit to Pune was canceled due to heavy rains in the city. He was scheduled to flag off the metro corridor and launch development projects worth Rs 22,600 crore on Thursday. Heavy rain also affected preparations at the SP College ground, which was designated as the venue of the event. The project is expected to significantly benefit the growing urban population of Pune.
