Politics in the country now means only ‘power politics’: Nitin Gadkari

Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar. Union Minister Nitin Gadkari said that politics is actually synonymous with social service, nation building and development, but at present it means only power politics. Senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Gadkari was addressing the felicitation ceremony of Rajasthan Governor Haribhau Bagde here. He said, “In politics, the problem is not of difference of ideas, but of lack of ideas.” Politics means ‘socialization (social service), nationalization (nation building) and vikaskaran (development).’ But now politics has changed to ‘sattakaran (power politics)’.
Gadkari said, “Earlier, while working as Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) workers, we faced many obstacles. There was no recognition and respect. Haribhau Bagde worked with dedication for the welfare of the people…I traveled and worked in Vidarbha for 20 years as a party worker.”
He said, “People used to throw stones at our rallies. After the Emergency, the autorickshaw which I used to make announcements was burnt by the people.” The Road Transport and Highways Minister said, ”Now thousands of people come to listen to me. But this popularity is not mine, it is because of workers like Haribhau Bagde, who worked hard and risked their lives.” Gadkari said a good party worker is one who works hard even if he doesn’t get anything in the party. Behaves well. He said that those who get something, they naturally behave well.
