According to the information, the Eighth Pay Commission can be implemented from January 2026. The Pay Commission is implemented every 10 years. In January 2016, the government implemented the Seventh Pay Commission. Now the new government can start preparing to implement the new Pay Commission.

Former Sri Lankan cricketer Muralitharan’s investment in India:

Former Sri Lankan cricketer Muttiah Muralitharan will invest Rs 1,400 crore in a soft drinks and confectionery unit in Karnataka’s Chamarajanagar district, Karnataka Heavy and Medium Industries Minister M B Patil said. Muralitharan discussed the project with Patil, following which the announcement was made. Muralitharan plans to manufacture beverages and confectionery under the brand ‘Muttiah Beverages and Confectioneries’, the minister’s office said in a statement.

SBI Bank preparing to open 400 new branches:

Under the network expansion plan, State Bank of India is preparing to open 400 new branches across the country in the current financial year (2024-25). The public sector bank has opened 137 branches in the last financial year, of which 59 are new rural branches. SBI Chairman Dinesh Khara said, “Someone asked me that 89 percent of digital and 98 percent of transactions are happening outside the branch, so is there a need for a branch now. My answer is yes, it is still necessary because new areas are emerging.”

10th spectrum auction begins:

The auction of spectrum worth Rs 96,238 crore started last month. It is going to be bid by companies like Airtel and Reliance Jio, which will help them expand their 5G services. This is the 10th spectrum auction since it started online in 2010. The last auction was held in August 2022, which for the first time included radio waves for 5G services.

Mobile plans will be expensive:

Consumers will now have to be prepared to pay higher phone bills continuously. Telecom operators have increased tariffs by up to 25% in the recent past. Reliance Jio increased tariffs by 12-25%, while Bharti Airtel increased it by 10-21%. Later, Vodafone Idea also increased tariff rates by 10-23%. The new increased rates will be applicable from July.
