Gandhinagar. Union Minister for New and Renewable Energy Prahlad Joshi urged investors to invest in India. He said that banks and financial institutions have committed to finance Rs 32.45 lakh crore in green projects. Addressing the inaugural session of the fourth Re-Invest 2024 program, Joshi said, we have received huge commitments from states and union territories as well as developers, manufacturers and financial institutions to achieve our target of 500 gigawatts by 2030.
Developers have committed to add an additional 570 GW of capacity, he said. Manufacturers have committed to add 340 GW of manufacturing capacity in solar modules, 240 GW in solar cells, 22 GW in wind turbines and 10 GW in electrolysers, he said. Banks and financial institutions have committed to provide additional financing of US$386 billion (Rs 32.45 lakh crore) by 2030.
