Samit Dravid, son of former Team India captain Rahul Dravid, has been named in India’s U19 squad for the upcoming multi-format home series against Australia U19. This is the first time Samit has been named in India’s U19 squad. Mohammad Amman has been named the captain of the 50-over side. Amman is a middle-order batsman and plays domestic cricket for Uttar Pradesh (UP).

Soham Patwardhan has been announced as the captain for the four-day series. Patwardhan represents Madhya Pradesh in the domestic arena. Notably, Samit is currently playing for Mysore Warriors in the Maharaja KSCA T20 Trophy and this is his first tournament at the senior level. Mysore Warriors bought Samit for Rs 50,000 in the auction in July. He is playing under the leadership of out-of-form Team India batsman Karun Nair.
