At the same time, he is seen demanding caste census in Parliament after the Lok Sabha elections. He does not miss any opportunity to talk about caste census. The situation is such that Rahul has left behind Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, Lalu Yadav and Akhilesh Yadav, who were flag bearers of caste census.
Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said it is a tragedy that educated people are becoming casteist in increasing numbers, warning that society is being divided in the name of religion and caste which will increase inequality. Siddaramaiah said many people were deprived of education due to the caste system which led to inequality. It is a tragedy that educated people are becoming casteist in increasing numbers. He alleged that proponents of caste inequality assassinated Mahatma Gandhi.
