Hockey team midfielder Rajkumar Pal has been selected in the team going to Paris Olympics. He started playing hockey at the age of 8 in Megh Baran Singh Stadium of Karampur. He has been a part of the national team for the last four years and due to his excellent performance, he has now been selected in the Olympic team.

Rajkumar Pal, a great midfielder of the Indian hockey team from Ghazipur, Uttar Pradesh, has been selected in the team going to Paris Olympics. Rajkumar Pal started playing hockey at the age of 8 at Megh Baran Singh Stadium in Karampur. He has been a part of the national team for the last four years and due to his excellent game, he has now been selected in the Olympic team. Earlier, he has played many international matches, he played his first international match against Belgium in 2020. Rajkumar Pal, who has made his own identity in hockey, has also been given the Laxman Award by the UP government.

His mother Manraji Devi, despite all the challenges, fulfilled all the responsibilities very well. Rajkumar and his two brothers were given a good upbringing with limited resources. Meanwhile, the Karampur Stadium established in Karampur village proved to be a milestone in the life of Rajkumar Pal. Looking at his inclination towards sports, he started practicing hard daily in the hockey ground of this stadium. His journey of playing tournaments one by one from the district level has reached the international level today. Rajkumar Pal has been a part of the Indian hockey team for the past several years. Rajkumar Pal said that he has reached this position because of the Meghbaran Stadium of Karampur. It was from here that he honed the initial skills of hockey.

After the death of his father at the age of 8, Rajkumar started learning the nuances of hockey at the village’s Meghbaran Singh Hockey Stadium. Now after the Asia Cup and World Cup, he has been selected for the Paris Olympics. After the news of his selection, there was a wave of happiness in his village and the stadium administration. Karampur Stadium Director Aniket Singh said that Rajkumar Pal also has two brothers, one of whom is in the army and the other brother is in the railways. All three brothers are skilled hockey players and the other two brothers have got jobs under the sports quota.

Former MP and former director of Meghbaran Singh Hockey Stadium, Radhe Mohan Singh said that when Rajkumar Pal was about 8 years old, his father used to drive a truck initially. After the death of his father, his mother Manraji Devi raised the three brothers. His elder brother Jokhan is in the army and the other brother Raju is in the railways. He started taking everyone to the late Thakur Tej Bahadur Singh Stadium and teaching them the nuances of hockey. In return, the three brothers used to do household and farm work after playing. Gradually, this continued and while learning the nuances of hockey, they even started playing national games. Rajkumar Pal’s coach Indradev said that Rajkumar started playing in this stadium at the age of eight. He has been a very disciplined player since childhood. He had a desire to learn from the beginning, due to which he kept moving forward and today he has become the first player from Ghazipur to go to the Olympics.
