The Congress leader and Chhattisgarh in-charge on Sunday criticised the Bharatiya Janata Party for its alleged attempts to tamper with the Constitution and reservation policies. He also commented on Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s recent statement of resigning from the post of Chief Minister.
On Kejriwal’s statement that he would resign from his post in two days if the people do not consider him “honest”, Pilot said, “It is their (people of Delhi) decision as to whom they declare as the chief minister. The Congress party is ready for every challenge… We will form government in Haryana and Jammu and Kashmir.” Pilot also spoke on the BJP’s approach to dealing with constitutional matters and reservation.
He said, “Reservation is given to the public. I am surprised to see the history. Who asked what is the need of 400 MPs in the Lok Sabha after tampering with the Constitution and reservation recently, the public has answered that further attacks will not work. The confidence with which the BJP has gathered votes has expired and it is true that a voice was raised from within the Bharatiya Janata Party to stop the tampering they wanted to do with the Constitution, reservation and the interests of the tribal Dalit people.”
