Shakib Al Hasan has revealed that the upcoming home Test series against South Africa will be his last series in this format. Apart from this announcement, the experienced all-rounder also announced his retirement from T20 International cricket with immediate effect before the Kanpur Test match. Shakib was addressing the media in Kanpur before the second Test against India. During this, he informed about his retirement. South Africa is scheduled to tour Bangladesh for a two-match Test series in mid-October.
According to Cricbuzz, all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan on Thursday announced that he has expressed his desire to retire from Test cricket to the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) with the end of the home series against South Africa in Mirpur next month. However, this depends on whether the legendary all-rounder gets security clearance to play in that series. If this does not happen, the Kanpur Test to be played against India will be the last Test match of his career.
