Sitharaman invites Mexican companies to collaborate with startups, educational institutions

New Delhi. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Thursday urged Mexican companies to explore collaboration with startups and educational institutions and take advantage of India’s business-friendly policies. In her address at the ‘Tech Leaders Roundtable’ at the Chamber of Commerce in Guadalajara (Mexico), Sitharaman stressed on the opportunities and responsibilities for similar economies and how India and Mexico can collaborate with each other.
He said Mexico is prospering through cooperation with neighboring countries. This has resulted in collaboration between multinational companies and exchange of talent as well as joint efforts to reduce risks. “The Union Finance Minister highlighted the rapid changes taking place in India while working towards the goal of creating a ‘Developed India’ by 2047,” the Finance Ministry wrote on its official account on social media platform ‘X’. Citing new areas of growth and cooperation between India and Mexico, he mentioned the major Budget announcement regarding the establishment of Centers of Excellence (CoEs).
Shared information about recently identified and announced CoEs in India to work in the areas of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in health and healthcare, agriculture and sustainable cities. He said that India and Mexico can explore possibilities of working together in these areas through collaboration between startups as well as educational institutions. The ministry said, “Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said that the challenges for large economies are not limited to growth only, but it is also important to bridge the gap and create opportunities for all.” This requires responsible capitalism.
During his visit to the headquarters of Tata Consultancy Services (Latin America) in Guadalajara, the Finance Minister paid tribute to the eminent industrialist Ratan Tata. Honorary Chairman of Tata Group and senior industrialist Ratan Tata died on October 9 at the age of 86. Sitharaman will hold bilateral meetings with her Mexican counterpart Rogelio Ramirez de la O during her official visit till October 20. She will also discuss with several members of Mexico’s Parliament to strengthen parliamentary cooperation and promote economic growth.
