Union Minister of State for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Bhagirath Chaudhary participated in the second edition of “Rajasthan Millets (Coarse Grains) Conclave – 2024” organized by FICCI in Jaipur on Friday, 27 September. Addressing the theme of the program “Emerging Rajasthan as the Millets Hub of the Country”, Union Minister Bhagirath Choudhary said that the Central Government under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and the Bhajanlal Government of the state are working on a large scale. Addressing the FICCI Millets Conclave – 2024, Union Minister of State for Agriculture Bhagirath Choudhary said that millet is a symbol of a promising future as per our agricultural and geographical scenario. It contains essential nutrients that strengthen the immune system for better health. Under this, it was promoted by celebrating 2023 as International Millets Year. Promotion of millets a boon for small farmers:
Union Minister of State for Agriculture Bhagirath Chaudhary said that consumption of Shri Anna is a means of staying healthy. Shree Anna is full of nutrition, it costs less for farmers to grow, it does not require fertilizer, it can be cultivated easily even in less rainfall. With the aim of increasing the income of small farmers, keeping people healthy and giving an honorable place to Shri Anna in the food plates in the country and the world, Prime Minister Narendra Modi put forward a proposal on the global platform through the United Nations, which was supported by 72 countries. And the UN declared 2023 the International Year of Millets. Bhagirath Chaudhary said that under the guidance of Prime Minister Modi, the importance of Shri Anna is being spread. With the increase in Agri startups from Shree Anna, employment opportunities are increasing. With increase in production and productivity, processing and export will also increase, which will boost the country’s economy.
