Usually, many companies provide cab service to people to go to office. Companies provide this facility keeping in mind the convenience of the employees. Starbucks is also providing similar facility to the new CEO of its company, which is being discussed everywhere.
Starbucks company has got a new CEO. Brian Nichol has become the new CEO of Starbucks. He is being provided the facility of corporate jet by the company to go to the office. The main reason behind this is. The new CEO’s home and office are quite far away, due to which he is being sent to the office by corporate jet. Nichol is using the company’s jet three times a week between his California home and Seattle office.
The revelation is being called a stunning example of hypocrisy from big companies when it comes to climate change — especially in light of the fact that Starbucks is now offering paper straws in stores worldwide in an effort to eliminate single-use plastic.
What is written in Brian Nicol’s offer letter
Nicole, 50, will be paid a base salary of $1.6 million annually as Starbucks CEO, according to her offer letter. The letter also states that she will not be required to relocate to the company’s headquarters, which is currently in Seattle, Washington. Instead, she must agree to commute (and make other business trips) from her “residence to the Company’s headquarters as necessary to perform her duties and responsibilities.” According to CNBC, that’s a distance of 1,000 miles or roughly 1,600 km.
During his tenure with Starbucks, Brian Niccol will also be eligible to use the company plane to travel between his place of residence and the company’s headquarters in Seattle. A company spokesperson told CNBC that Niccol will be expected to work from the Seattle office at least three times a week in accordance with Starbucks’ hybrid work policy. “Brian’s main office and the majority of his time will be spent at our Seattle support center or meeting partners and customers at our stores, roastery, roasting facilities and offices around the world,” the spokesperson said. “His schedule will exceed the hybrid work guidelines and workplace expectations we have for all partners.”
