Pro. Ravindra Kumar Gupta said that due to the use of smart cards for the last seven years, the admission of outsiders and wrong students in the college was stopped. Due to which the possibility of fake voting in elections was completely eliminated.
Technology is for our convenience and should be used as appropriately as possible. For the last seven years, PGDAV College (Sandhya) has conducted the student union elections in the college through smart cards by proper use of technology. These views were expressed by Prof. Principal of PGDAV College (Evening), Delhi University. Ravindra Kumar Gupta said while explaining the utility of smart cards being used to avoid rigging in the student union elections of Delhi University. He said that for the last seven years, the use of smart cards had stopped the entry of outsiders and wrong students in the college. Due to which the possibility of fake voting in elections was completely eliminated.
He also said that this smart card is equipped with multifunctional features for the students. This card, connected to the computer of the college library, has the facility of cashless transactions along with personal information of the student. Through which the student can deposit money in this card as per requirement and use it in every facility of the college. This card can be used everywhere in the college library, canteen, photocopy shop etc.
On this occasion, Student Union Advisor Dr. Vipin Pratap Singh said that with smart cards, it has become easier to conduct voting quickly in elections with correct identification of students. He also said that since the Internal Students Union Committee of the college was elected unopposed, only DUSU elections are being held in the college.
