Team India left from Barbados, will meet PM Modi soon after returning home

India won the T20 World Cup title by defeating South Africa in the final match. The Indian team performed brilliantly in this exciting match held on 29 June. Due to which the team ended the long wait of 13 years. Team India will reach Delhi on the morning of Thursday, July 4. After which the entire Indian team led by Rohit Sharma will meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Let us tell you that due to the storm in Barbados, the government there had banned all flights. After which there was a lockdown situation in the whole of Barbados and Team India also had to be locked in their hotel rooms. But now after waiting, Team India will reach Delhi on Thursday at 6.20 am.

The Indian team was earlier scheduled to leave from Barbados on July 2, but the team’s return was delayed due to late landing of the plane. The players will be felicitated by PM Modi within a few hours of returning to the country. PM Modi will meet the Indian players for breakfast at 11 am. There is also a plan to hold a road show in Mumbai in honor of the victorious team. The team will also reach Mumbai by this flight from Delhi.

It is worth noting that, after winning the T20 World Cup, on June 30, PM Modi spoke to the players of Team India over the phone and congratulated them for the victory. Officials said that PM Modi congratulated Indian cricket team captain Rohit Sharma for his captaincy and also praised his T20 career. PM Modi also praised Virat Kohli for his innings in the final match and also praised his contribution to Indian cricket.

When is the parade in Mumbai?

On the lines of the 2007 T20 champion team, Rohit Sharma’s victorious team will parade in an open-top bus from the National Centre for Performing Arts at Nariman Point to the iconic Wankhede Stadium at 4 pm on Thursday. A meeting was held between the Mumbai Cricket Association and the police on Wednesday evening.

Along with this, BCCI Secretary Jay Shah will also distribute the prize money of Rs 125 crore. In fact, a source in the board told The Indian Express that the players are tired. Therefore it was decided that a small open-roof bus parade will be taken out from NCPA, Nariman Point to Wankhede Stadium. Which will not be more than 2 kilometers. After this the prize distribution will take place.
