The body of the minister’s driver was found hanging in Bareilly

The body of the alleged driver of the state government’s livestock minister was found hanging from a noose in the guest house of the Public Works Department (PWD) located in Civil Lines of Bareilly district headquarters on Sunday. Police gave this information.

PUAnimal Husbandry Minister Dharampal Singh’s driver Rajveer (46) allegedly committed suicide, Lis said. He said Rajveer’s body was found hanging from a noose and he had headphones in his ears.

The Kotwali police has sent the body for post-mortem. Kotwali’s SHO Dinesh Sharma said that Rajveer Singh was a resident of Barabanki district and he used to drive the vehicle of Animal Husbandry and Dairy Development Minister Dharampal Singh in the Uttar Pradesh government.

Sharma said that Rajveer Singh was staying at the PWD guest house in Bareilly on Saturday and committed suicide by hanging himself late at night. Sharma said that Rajveer’s family members have been informed about the incident.

He said that several calls were made to him on Sunday but he did not answer any of the calls and when the minister’s gunman reached there, the door was locked from inside. He said that after this the door was broken and Rajveer’s body was found there and he had headphones in his ears and his mobile was in his pocket.

The SHO said that since the mobile was locked, it could not be ascertained who he was talking to but it is suspected that he committed suicide by hanging himself while talking.

He said that the police is getting his call records to find out who he was talking to. Dharampal Singh is a BJP MLA from Aonla assembly constituency of Bareilly district and he often visits the area on Saturdays and Sundays. Police said that he was somewhere else at the time of the incident.
