Uchana Kalan Assembly constituency is considered to be the stronghold of Bangar. The contest here has always been between the Chaudharis. This time too, the contest is between former Deputy Chief Minister Dushyant Chautala of the fourth generation of the Chautala family and former MP Brijendra Singh, son of former Union Minister Birendra Singh, from the Congress side.

Haryana’s Uchana Kalan assembly constituency is considered to be the stronghold of Bangar. The contest here has always been between the Chaudharis. This time too, the contest is between the fourth generation of the Chautala family, former Deputy Chief Minister Dushyant Chautala and former MP Brijendra Singh, son of former Union Minister Birendra Singh from the Congress. The BJP has made the contest triangular by fielding its young candidate Devendra Atri between these two Chaudharis. Therefore, the Uchana Kalan seat of the state has become the hot seat of the state. The reason is that the prestige of Dushyant Chautala and Birendra Singh is at stake on this seat.

Whoever loses, Dushyant Chautala or Brijendra, his family’s political future may be in trouble. On the other hand, this is a golden opportunity for BJP’s young candidate Devendra Atri. If Devendra Atri manages to win by defeating these two giants, he will be established as a big face in Haryana politics. For the last 15 years, this seat has been contested between the Chautala family and Birendra Singh’s family. The Chautala family has won the election from here twice and Birendra Singh’s family has won once.

Earlier, Birendra Singh from Haryana’s veteran Chautala family has been an MLA from here five times. In 2009, Birendra Singh did not contest the election after losing and fielded his wife Premlata. Premlata has become MLA from here in 2014 on BJP ticket. JJP’s Dushyant Chautala was elected MLA from this seat in 2019. Uchana Kalan seat is a Jat dominated area. Here the number of Jat voters alone is around one lakh 7 thousand and there are about 27 thousand voters from Brahmin community. There are about 26 thousand voters of SC community on this seat, while there are about 20 thousand OBC voters. In the fight between two Chaudharis on Uchana Kalan seat, Jat votes can be divided into two parts. In such a situation, OBC and SC voters can play a decisive role.
