There should be no injustice done to any candidate in the teacher recruitment case: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath

Lucknow. Regarding the Allahabad High Court’s order on the recruitment of assistant teachers in Uttar Pradesh, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said on Sunday that the government’s clear opinion is that the reserved category candidates should get the benefit of the reservation facility as per the Constitution and no injustice should be done to any candidate. He asked the Basic Education Department to take action in the light of the Supreme Court’s comment and the High Court’s decision. An official statement issued by the state government here said, in the case of 69,000 assistant teachers, the Basic Education Department informed Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath about all the facts of the court’s decision.
On this, the Chief Minister directed to take action in the light of the Supreme Court’s comment and the High Court’s decision. According to the statement, the Chief Minister said, the government’s clear opinion is that the reserved category candidates should get the benefit of the reservation facility provided by the Constitution and no candidate should be treated unfairly. The Allahabad High Court has directed the Uttar Pradesh government to prepare a new selection list for the appointment of 69,000 assistant teachers within three months.
A bench of Justices AR Masoodi and Brijraj Singh quashed the selection lists issued in June 2020 and January 2022, which included 6,800 candidates from reserved categories. The fresh order was uploaded on the court’s website on August 16. The bench also modified the earlier order and said that reserved category candidates who qualify in the general category merit list should be transferred to that category. Following the court order, opposition parties have been accusing the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led government in Uttar Pradesh of tampering with the reservation system.
Samajwadi Party (SP) chief Akhilesh Yadav, in a post on Instagram, accused Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya, who is considered a big leader of the backward classes in the state, saying that the favorite Deputy Chief Minister is part of the government that snatched reservation from the youth. Reacting to Yadav’s comment, Maurya alleged that the PDA of Congress’s pawn SP Bahadur is a big lie. PDA is an acronym of Pichhda, Dalit and Minority (Backward, Dalit and Minority), which Yadav coined before the Lok Sabha elections and fighting for their rights was a major election issue of the Samajwadi Party.
“The Allahabad High Court’s decision in teachers’ recruitment is a welcome step towards social justice. It is a victory for those backward class people and Dalits who fought a long battle for their rights. I welcome it wholeheartedly,” Maurya said in a post on Instagram on Saturday. Yadav accused Maurya of playing political cards. “Those who give pain cannot give relief!” the SP president said. The statement of a favourite deputy chief minister of Uttar Pradesh in the 69,000 teacher recruitment case is also conspiratorial. He was part of the government that took away reservation and when the youth fought against it and got justice after a long struggle, he came forward to show himself as a sympathiser.
