The lower court had sentenced four to death
Patna High Court overturned the lower court’s decision. The death sentence of four people who were sentenced to death was changed to life imprisonment. In its 63-page order, the division bench of Ashutosh Kumar and Jitendra Kumar said about the death row accused Imtiyaz Alam, Haider Ali, Numan Ansari and Mujibulla Ansari that 30 years of imprisonment would be sufficient for them and would meet the ends of justice. Alam, Ali and Mujibulla Ansari are also serving life imprisonment in the July 2013 Bodh Gaya serial bomb blast case.
What did the High Court say while reversing the decision
The court said that the four convicts are youngsters who have no established cross-border contact. All of them are residents of Ranchi in Jharkhand. The bench said that the material presented before the subordinate court was insufficient to conclude that they were beyond reform. When they were in custody, nothing came to light to indicate that they had created difficulties for the investigators.
There was a conspiracy to blow up as a human bomb
Mastermind Haider Ali and Mujibullah are said to be the masterminds of the blast. During interrogation, he confessed his crime. During interrogation, he told that he had reached Gandhi Maidan with his entire team to create havoc in the Hunkar rally. In these blasts, the terrorists’ target was Narendra Modi and they had planned to blow him up with a human bomb. The terrorists had made full preparations for this. This plan included the terrorists going to Narendra Modi wearing a bomb-equipped jacket and blowing him up.

The body of a terrorist was blown away
On 27 October 2013, six people were killed and more than ninety people were injured in a series of blasts in Patna, the capital of Bihar. However, despite these blasts, a rally was held in Gandhi Maidan, Patna and Narendra Modi also gave a speech. He was the prime ministerial candidate from BJP. When these blasts took place in Gandhi Maidan, the police had called it a small explosion, but the truth was that the body of a terrorist was blown up in the blast. It is said that a human bomb was used to blow up the vehicle of the current PM Narendra Modi, who was the PM candidate. But by mistake it exploded in the toilet of Patna Junction. A case was registered in Gandhi Maidan and Patna Railway Police Station in this blast. Later this case was handed over to NIA. Although no terrorist organization took responsibility for this, the investigating agencies suspected the involvement of SIMI and Indian Mujahideen.
