The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has invited applications from private sector employees for lateral recruitment to 45 posts of Secretary, Deputy Secretary and Director in 24 central ministries. The posts announced by UPSC include 10 Joint Secretary posts and 35 Director/Deputy Secretary posts.
The applications invited for the posts of Joint Secretary include two posts in the Ministry of Finance, one each in the Ministry of Home Affairs and the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology. Similarly, the applications invited for the posts of Director/Deputy Secretary include eight posts in the Ministry of Agriculture, two posts in the Ministry of Education and one each in the Ministry of External Affairs and the Ministry of Civil Aviation.
The UPSC said in a release that the minimum required experience for joint secretary level posts is 15 years, while for director level posts it is 10 years and for deputy secretary level posts it is seven years respectively. It further said that the age limit for joint secretary level posts is between 40 and 55 years, while for director level posts the age limit is 35 and 45 years and for deputy secretary level posts the age limit is 32 and 40 years respectively.
“The period of contract/deputation will be three years which can be extended up to a maximum of five years based on performance and requirement,” UPSC said in the release.
