Tuesday was not a good day for South American football. Uruguay’s 27-year-old defender Juan Izcudero died after fainting on the field. Juan had also fainted on the field in a similar way on August 27 and was under medical observation.
In the 84th minute of the Copa Libertadores match, Juan fell to the ground. He did not collide with anyone. As soon as he fell on the ground, he was immediately taken to Albert Einstein Hospital by ambulance where he was treated in the ICU. It was here that his brain stopped working due to which Juan died.
Juan’s club, Club Nacional de Football, is deeply saddened and shocked to announce the passing of our beloved player Juan Izquierdo. Along with this, the South American Football Association has also expressed grief over this. Conmebol President Alejandro Dominguez said that we are very sad to see Juan go like this. South American Football expresses grief over this. Uruguay players have also expressed disappointment over this.
