Vice President Kamala Harris held a public meeting in Wisconsin as part of her campaign for the US presidential election proposed in November, while former President Barack Obama and his wife Michelle Obama campaigned in support of Harris in Chicago.
“I see hope,” Barack Obama said at the Democratic National Convention (DNC) in Chicago. Earlier, Michelle said at the rally, “There’s something magical in the air, isn’t there?”“America, hope is returning,” he said.
Earlier, Harris, the Democratic Party’s presidential candidate, said in Wisconsin that she was “running a people-powered campaign.” The Republican Party convention was held in Wisconsin last month.
The Vice President said, “Together we will create a new way forward… a future of freedom, opportunity, optimism and faith.” America’s first black President Barack Obama said, “History will remember (current President) Joe Biden as a President who protected democracy in times of great danger. Joe, thank you. I am proud to call him my President, but I am even more proud that he is my friend.”
Senators Chuck Schumer and Bernie Sanders also praised Harris. Trump’s former press secretary during the campaign and now his staunch critic Stephanie Grisham also praised Harris, saying, “Trump has no empathy, no morality and no loyalty to the truth. I love my country more than my party. Kamala Harris speaks the truth. She respects the American people and my vote is with her.”
