Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar again mentioned the Emergency, said- dictatorial action was taken to cling to power

On the pretext of emergency, Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar has once again targeted the Congress without naming it. During a program in Ahmedabad, Jagdeep Dhankhar said that let me remind you, this great nation was bled in 1975 with the declaration of a harsh emergency by the then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, who acted dictatorially to cling to power and selfishness with a gross and insulting disregard for religion. He said that in fact, it was a sacrilege of religion. It was an injustice that can neither be denied nor forgiven. It was an injustice that cannot be ignored or forgotten.

Jagdeep Dhankhar further said that more than one lakh people were jailed. Some of them became Prime Ministers, Presidents, Vice Presidents and held public service positions. And all this was done to satisfy the whims of the protectors of religion. I ask myself what happened to those Dharma warriors at that time? My answer is simple. He said that more than one lakh of them faced humiliation, imprisonment and this constitutional and democratic disaster indicates that society will have to suffer for a long time, bear indelible marks on its fair face when we allow injustice to happen.
He said that as a tribute to Dharma, as a commitment to Dharma, to protect Dharma, to show faith in Dharma, the observance of ‘Samvidhan Diwas’ on November 26 and ‘Samvidhan Hatya Diwas’ on June 25 is essential. They are grim reminders of the violations of Dharma and call for zealous observance of Constitutional Dharma. He said that in the contemporary political scenario, there is a growing concern that those who have been entrusted with the responsibility of serving the people are drifting away from their Dharma. It is their sacred duty to serve the people with honesty, transparency and justice! Instead of upholding the principles of righteousness, some of them are engaged in actions that are contrary to the essence of Dharma. This deviation from moral and ethical responsibilities is a matter of grave concern as it undermines the faith and confidence of the people
