Lucknow. Voting will be held for 13 seats in the fourth phase of Lok Sabha elections in Uttar Pradesh on Monday i.e. tomorrow. In this phase, the prestige of Samajwadi Party (SP) chief Akhilesh Yadav in Kannauj and Union Minister Ajay Mishra Teni in Kheri is at stake. Shahjahanpur (reserved), Kheri, Dhaurahara, Sitapur, Hardoi (reserved), Misrikh (reserved), Unnao, Farrukhabad, Etawah (reserved), Kannauj, Kanpur, Akbarpur, Bahraich (reserved) Lok Sabha seats in the 13 Lok Sabha constituencies of the fourth phase. Out of which eight seats are of general category and five seats are reserved for Scheduled Caste. There are 130 candidates in the fray for all these constituencies.

The electoral fate of these candidates will be decided by more than two crore 46 lakh voters. By-election will be held on Dadraul (Shahjahanpur district) assembly seat on Monday itself. 10 candidates are in the fray for the by-election on Dadraul seat. Voting will start from 7 am in the morning and continue till 6 pm. By-election is being held on Dadraul Assembly seat due to the death of Manvendra Singh, elected on Bharatiya Janata Party ticket in 2022. Here BJP has fielded Arvind Singh, son of late Manvendra Singh and SP has fielded former minister Avadhesh Verma.

In the fourth phase, there is a tough fight in Kannauj between SP chief Akhilesh Yadav and sitting BJP MP Subrata Pathak, while in Unnao, sitting BJP MP Sakshi Maharaj (Swami Sachchidanand Hari Sakshi) is facing SP’s Annu Tandon. Four BJP candidates – Union ministers Ajay Mishra Teni (Kheeri), Rekha Verma (Dhaurahra), Mukesh Rajput (Farrukhabad) and Devendra Singh alias Bhole (Akbarpur) are hoping to win for the third time, while Rajesh Verma is hoping to win from Sitapur for the fifth time.
