Was the CISF constable who slapped Kangana Ranaut reinstated to her job? Know the whole matter

Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) constable Kulwinder Kaur, who allegedly slapped actor and BJP MP Kangana Ranaut at the Chandigarh airport last month, has been transferred to a unit in Bengaluru pending a disciplinary inquiry. The central armed police force suspended Kaur on June 6, soon after the incident when the newly-elected MP was travelling to Delhi. Moreover, an FIR was filed against Kaur following a complaint by CISF.

Investigation is ongoing against Kaur

Sources said Kaur is suspended and has been posted at the 10th Reserve Battalion based in the Karnataka capital pending a disciplinary inquiry. She was transferred to the unit immediately after the incident in the proper interest of the ongoing investigation, they said. A senior commandant-rank officer is conducting the inquiry and statements of the constable, his colleagues present at the airport that day, the shift in-charge and some airline officials are being recorded, sources said. The probe will take some time, after which an appropriate decision will be taken, they said. Kulwinder Kaur, who hails from Kapurthala district in Punjab, joined the CISF in 2009 and has been serving with its aviation security group at the Chandigarh airport since 2021. So far, she has maintained a clean record, with no vigilance inquiry or disciplinary action against her. Her husband was also posted at the Chandigarh airport.

Why was Kangana slapped?

It is said that the incident took place on June 6 at around 3.30 pm when Ranaut was at the Chandigarh airport to fly to Delhi. According to sources, the CISF officer allegedly slapped her during an argument during the search. It is being claimed that the CISF guard was angry with Kangana Ranaut for speaking against the farmers’ movement. Mayank Madhur, who was with Kangana, tried to slap Kulwinder Kaur. After this, a complaint was lodged with the police on behalf of Ranaut.
