New forces are emerging in Bangladesh seeking friendship with Pakistan and hostility with India. A professor of Dhaka University has now called for a nuclear treaty with Pakistan to deter India, a country that played a key role in the birth of Bangladesh.
After the coup of Sheikh Hasina’s government in India’s neighboring country Bangladesh, anti-India activities are continuously increasing. Earlier, there were frequent reports of Hindus being targeted there. Along with this, statements were also being made about India by fundamentalist organizations. Now such a statement has come from a professor of Dhaka University, after hearing which it seems that Bangladesh now wants to increase friendship with fundamentalist Pakistan. New forces demanding friendship with Pakistan and enmity with India are emerging in Bangladesh. A professor of Dhaka University has now called for a nuclear treaty with Pakistan to stop India, the country that played an important role in the birth of Bangladesh.
University professor Shahiduzzaman said that to change India’s habitual perception, the right answer would be to become nuclear-capable. Nuclearize Bangladesh. Being nuclear-capable does not mean that we become a nuclear power. By nuclear-capable I mean that we should have a nuclear treaty with our former rival Pakistan. He said that India cannot be stopped without Pakistan’s technical assistance. Professor Shahiduzzaman said that Pakistan has always been Bangladesh’s most trusted security partner. But Indians do not want us to trust it. The Awami League wants us not to trust it. Bangladesh should lean towards Pakistan.
He further said that the Pakistanis have a jealous heart. They don’t want us to apologize. But they also don’t want us to stay with India. They are ready to do anything to protect us from India.
Professor Shahiduzzaman also talked about acquiring nuclear missiles from Pakistan and deploying them on the border with India. He said that placing Pakistan’s Ghauri short-range missiles in North Bengal and the Chittagong Hill Tracts would have an adverse effect on India. He alleged that India wants to occupy parts of Bangladesh and make it a part of the northeastern states and to stop this, Pakistan’s help is needed in terms of nuclear treaty and acquiring Pakistani missiles.
