The Cabinet has approved the Chandrayaan-4 mission. Now a statement has also come from PM Modi regarding this. Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted that it will make everyone proud that Chandrayaan-4 has been approved by the Cabinet! This will have many benefits, including making India more self-reliant in space technologies, promoting innovation and supporting the education world.
Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said that the Cabinet approved the extension of the Venus orbital mission, Gaganyaan and Chandrayaan-4 missions. Let us tell you that the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) is preparing for its ambitious Chandrayaan-4 mission, which aims to bring back samples from the Moon. However, unlike previous missions, the Chandrayaan-4 mission has some unique challenges. It will involve the most powerful rocket system used by India so far. The mission involves several launches, after which the modules will be assembled in space.
The Rs 2,104 crore mission will bring back moon rocks and soil to Earth. The mission will use two different rockets. The heavy-lifter LVM-3 and ISRO’s reliable workhorse PSLV will carry different payloads. India’s future space station Indian Space Station (BAS) will also be assembled in space through multiple launches. The first segment of the BAS will be launched using the current LVM3 rocket, with the first launch targeted for 2028.
