Why does BJP repeatedly stand against its own party MP Kangana Ranaut? The party is confused by the actress’s latest statement on the farmers’ law!!

Actress-turned-politician Kangana Ranaut has added another big twist to the fight between farmers and farmers. Speaking to reporters in Mandi, Himachal Pradesh, Lok Sabha MP Kangana Ranaut said that the laws that were withdrawn by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government in November 2021 after a massive agitation should now be “brought back… the farmers should demand it themselves”. Kangana Ranaut said, “I know it will be controversial… but I think the repealed farm laws should be brought back. The farmers should demand it themselves. They are the pillars of strength for the country’s development and I want to appeal to them – demand the laws back for your own good.”

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) distanced itself from party MP Kangana Ranaut’s latest remarks on the three farm laws. On Tuesday, the BJP distanced itself from her comments and said Kangana Ranaut is not “authorised” to make such remarks on behalf of the party. After her remarks came under sharp criticism from the BJP, the Lok Sabha MP from Mandi said her comments were personal and had nothing to do with the party’s stand.
Actress-turned-politician Kangana Ranaut has once again stirred up a controversy after she suggested that the three farm reform laws that were repealed following protests by farmers should be rolled back. Ranaut took to social media platform Instagram to emphasise the personal nature of her views. “Of course, my views on the farmers’ laws are personal and they do not represent the party’s stand on those Bills. Thank you,” she wrote.

The controversy started on Tuesday when Ranaut, in an interview to the media, said, “I know this statement may be controversial, but the three farm laws should be rolled back. The farmers themselves should demand it.” She argued that the three laws were beneficial for farmers, but the Centre repealed them in the wake of protests by farmer groups in some states. She said, “Farmers are the pillars of strength in the country’s development. I want to appeal to them to demand the laws back for their own good.”
Notably, this is not the first time the BJP has condemned the Lok Sabha MP’s comments. Last month, the party had distanced itself from Kangana Ranaut’s comments on the farmers’ protest and urged the actress-turned-politician to exercise restraint in making such statements in the future.
The BJP MP had then claimed that the farmer protests were a preparation to create a “Bangladesh-like situation in India”. He further alleged that bodies were found hanging and rapes were taking place at protest sites, drawing sharp criticism from the BJP and the opposition.
