Mahindra has revealed the price of almost all variants of Thar ROXX and also given information about the features. The length of Thar Rox is 4428 mm, width is 1870 mm and wheelbase is 2850 mm. It has two engine options – 2.0 liter turbo petrol with 175 bhp and 380 Nm while lower trims get 162 bhp and 330 Nm. There is a diesel with 173 bhp and 370 Nm while lower trims get 152 bhp and 330 Nm. Transmission options include 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic.
The petrol gets RWD while the diesel gets 4×4 and RWD as well. Other highlights include electric power steering, FDD suspension, 57 litre fuel tank, 650mm water wading capability. The Thar ROXX has 7 colour options and comes with 19-inch alloy wheels, LED projector headlamps, panoramic sunroof, 6-way adjustable power driver seat, cooled glovebox, 360-degree camera, blind view monitor, 9-speaker Harman Kardon audio system, Smart Crawl off-road cruise control, power folding ORVMs, ventilated seats, front and rear armrests, rear AC vents, ambient lighting, level 2 ADAS, leatherette seats, remote fuel tank opening, etc. It also gets a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster and touchscreen.
The variant list includes MX1, MX3, AX3L, MX5, AX5L, AX7L. The MX1 comes in petrol and diesel manual. The MX3 comes in petrol and diesel auto plus manual. The MX5 is available in diesel and petrol RWD. The AX3L and AX5L are available in diesel while the AX7L comes in petrol AT and diesel 4×4 as well as RWD in manual or auto. Bookings will start from October 3 while deliveries will start from Dussehra.
The company launched the five-door version of its iconic Thar – Thar Rocks – at a starting price of Rs 12.99 lakh, aiming to make inroads in the mid-compact SUV segment. According to Jejurikar, the recently launched product will help them increase sales in the mid-SUV segment. With the launch of Thar Rocks, the company expects the Thar brand to regain the leading position in the segment above Rs 12.5 lakh.
