The decision not to nominate Jayant Sinha has fuelled speculation about Yashwant Sinha’s future political plans. The formation of Atal Vichar Manch is being seen as a strategic response to these developments. The new party is expected to contest the upcoming assembly elections with the aim of making a significant impact. Before leaving for Delhi on Monday, Sinha told reporters that after consultations with various sections of the society, a final decision on forming Atal Vichar Manch (AVM) will be taken soon.

Sunday’s meeting was chaired by Surendra Kumar Sinha, a former member of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) working committee. He (Surendra) has been a representative of former BJP MP Jayant Sinha. Supporters of both Jayant and his father Yashwant Sinha attended the meeting. Yashwant Sinha, a cabinet minister in the Vajpayee government, won the Hazaribagh Lok Sabha seat in 1998, 1999 and 2009. In the 2004 elections, he lost to Communist Party of India (CPI) candidate Bhuvaneshwar Mehta.
