Shimla. The Meteorological Department in Himachal Pradesh has issued a yellow alert for strong winds and thunderstorms at isolated places in six districts of the state on Sunday and Wednesday. The Meteorological Department has predicted that the spell of rain will continue in the state till September 21.
The weather department said that intermittent rains continued in many parts of the state and Kasauli recorded the highest rainfall of 53 millimetres (mm) since Saturday evening. During this period, Dharampur recorded 26 mm of rain, while Renuka 20 mm, Karsog 10 mm, Nahan 7.9 mm, Kalpa 7.7 mm, Sarahan 6 mm and Dharamsala and Kangra 5.6 mm of rain.

According to the State Emergency Operation Centre (SEOC), over 40 roads were closed and 53 power supply schemes were disrupted in the state on Saturday evening. The state has an 18 per cent rainfall deficit during the monsoon season from June 1 to September 15. The state has received 562.9 mm of rain against the average rainfall of 689.6 mm during the monsoon season.

According to officials, since the arrival of monsoon in the state, 169 people have died and 30 are missing in rain-related incidents from June 27 to Saturday. They said the state has suffered a loss of Rs 1,327 crore due to rain-related incidents.
