18 listed real estate companies sold properties worth Rs 1.17 lakh crore in the last financial year

New Delhi. During the last financial year (2023-24), 18 major listed real estate companies have sold properties worth Rs 1.17 lakh crore. Godrej Properties was the largest company with sales booking of Rs 22,527 crore. Except for a few real estate companies, sales bookings of all major developers in 2023-24 have been higher than the figures of FY 2022-23. This was mainly due to strong demand for residential properties, especially large and expensive homes in major cities. Many developers recorded record order sales in FY 2023-24 due to the surge in consumer demand.

According to information given to the stock exchange, 18 major listed realty companies have recorded combined sales bookings of around Rs 1,16,635 crore in FY 2023-24, up 33 per cent from around Rs 88,000 crore in the previous year. Most of these combined sales bookings of around Rs 1.17 lakh crore are from the residential sector. Industry experts believe that this surge in sales bookings of major listed companies is due to strong housing demand after the COVID-19 pandemic and the shift in demand towards companies and brands that have a better record of executing projects.

In terms of sales bookings, Godrej Properties has been at the forefront in FY23-24 with Rs 22,527 crore. Bengaluru-based Prestige Estates Projects recorded sales bookings of Rs 21,040 crore and became the second largest listed company in this regard. DLF, the country’s largest realty company in terms of market capitalization, achieved sales bookings of Rs 14,778 crore in the last fiscal. Mumbai-based Macrotech Developers, which sells properties under the ‘Lodha’ brand, has recorded sales of Rs 14,520 crore. Gurugram-based Signature Global, which was listed last year, performed very well and achieved sales bookings of Rs 7,270 crore in the last fiscal, which was more than double the previous fiscal.
