Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi had alleged that a delegation of students has not yet been able to enter Parliament or meet the Leader of Opposition. Rahul Gandhi is going to meet them as his ‘Bharat Jodo’ (connect India) pledge continues.

Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha and Congress MP Rahul Gandhi met a delegation of fishermen from across the country in the reception room of Parliament House. It is said that the delegation was not issued entry passes. Apart from this, he met a delegation of the Right to Food Campaign. Earlier, Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi, who was present with him, had alleged that a delegation of students has not yet been able to enter the Parliament nor meet the Leader of the Opposition. Rahul Gandhi is going to meet them because his ‘Bharat Jodo’ resolution is continuing.

Earlier on Tuesday, Rahul Gandhi met a delegation of the Samyukta Kisan Morcha and discussed a number of issues, including pressing the government for a legal guarantee for MSP and loan waiver. The 11-member delegation met Gandhi at his office in the Parliament House complex, where they highlighted the various difficulties faced by farmers across the country, reiterating their demand for a legal assurance on MSP.

Congress general secretaries K C Venugopal and Jairam Ramesh were also present at the meeting, which came after a farmer delegation met Gandhi in Parliament recently. Gandhi emphasised that the India Bloc is determined to get a legal guarantee for MSP. He said the bloc will pressurise the government to fulfil this commitment. A delegation of NGO Sarva Sewa Sangh also met Gandhi. The meeting with the Samyukta Kisan Morcha (SKM) delegation comes weeks after Gandhi met another farmer delegation in the Parliament House complex.
